Should I Go See A Doctor?

I know this sounds stupid, but I’ve been feeling different than usual… I realized I feel more anxious than normal, I feel a tingling feeling in my body, I’ve been getting charlie horses almost everyday in which yesterday I had one for 7 minutes, my foot and hand/ arm have been feeling numb- kinda. I also feel more tired than usual, but it could be because I am in college now. I am not jumping into any conclusions, but could this be symptoms of diabetes? All four of my grandparents had diabetes and so does my dad.I still go about my day, as usual. Should I go see a doctor, even though none of my symptoms are “major”. I was thinking about asking him if he could just give me a diabetes test just to make sure. Thanks! :)

Sounds to me, like a vitamin deficiency. Are you eating a balanced diet? College students frequently do not. I would get some B complex vitamins as well as a good multi and make sure you get your calcium. (Milk and yogurt, dairy products.) Diabetes can cause tingling but that is peripheral neuropathy and its a late sign, not an early one. If you are excessively thirsty and peeing a lot, then you have an early sign of diabetes. Unless you are really overweight, I would doubt diabetes would kick in at your age, even if you are overweight, its rare to get type 2 in your teens or early 20’s.
Seeing a doctor is never wrong. If the symptoms persist for more than a few days, by all means, see somebody.

A general check up wouldnt hurt it would relieve your mind and let you concentrate on college. You may want to start some vitamins after you see the doctor. Make sure you have the glucose tolerance test for diabetes and then you can relax and get on with college I think its a good idea to have the check. good luck
